My 'Cats' rewatch count hit double digits and I'm not ashamed
I just realized I've watched the 2019 'Cats' movie twelve times now. Most people I know walked out or turned it off, but I kept going back. For me, it's a weird, fascinating mess of a movie that feels like a dream you can't wake up from. The sheer commitment to the bizarre cat-person look and the odd musical choices make it something you don't see every day. Has anyone else found a movie so bad it became a comfort watch?

Twelve times is some serious dedication to the nightmare fuel. The scene where Judi Dench as a cat stares into the camera and basically blesses the whole mess lives in my head rent free. It's the kind of movie that makes you question reality, but in a weirdly cozy way. Like watching a train wreck made of glitter and bad CGI that you just can't look away from.

Twelve times is wild, I tapped out after one. I get what grant.sam means about the weird cozy feeling, but for me it was just confusing. The whole thing felt like a tech demo gone wrong.

Honestly the tech demo feel is the whole point though. It's like they knew the cgi was janky and just leaned all the way into it. That cheap, homemade quality gives it a weird charm you don't get from polished studio stuff.
