Serious question, does anyone else have a soft spot for 'Battlefield Earth'?

I know, I know, it's the movie everyone loves to hate. I paid full price to see it in the theater back in 2000, which was a solid $8.50 back then. The plot is a mess, the acting is over the top, and those weird camera angles are just bizarre. But you know what? I find it weirdly fun. It's like watching a car crash you can't look away from. John Travolta as the alien Terl is trying so hard, it's almost impressive. The whole thing feels like a big, expensive, silly comic book that took itself way too seriously. I can't call it good, but I've watched it three times now. Has anyone else found a movie so bad it somehow loops back around to being entertaining for you?

Oh totally, I get that. For me it's "The Room." It's so bad it becomes a weird kind of art. You can't make that stuff up on purpose.

You said it feels like a car crash you can't look away from, that's the perfect way to put it. My soft spot is for "Hudson Hawk." It's a mess of a movie where Bruce Willis sings to control how long he steals things, and there's a plot about a coffee machine that turns things to gold. It makes no sense, but the sheer confidence of its own stupidity is kind of amazing. It's like they dared everyone to walk out. @samwalker gets it with The Room, it's that same train wreck charm. I guess my bad movie taste is just part of my charm, or my problem.
