Talked to my dad about Battlefield Earth and now I kinda get why people like it

He saw it in theaters back in 2000 and said the sound mix in IMAX was actually incredible. The way the harpies swoop down with that bass rumble? He convinced me to watch it again just for the audio design. Still a terrible movie but I at least see what he meant now. Anyone else have a movie they hate that someone else helped you find one good thing about?

The audio is the whole reason I gave it another shot. That low end bass during the attack scenes hits way harder than any movie from that year had any right to do. It doesn't fix the plot or acting but at least there's one thing to respect.
