Unpopular opinion: I paid $30 for a VHS copy of Mac and Me and it made my whole summer
Everyone online calls Mac and Me one of the worst movies ever made, mostly because of that wheelchair scene and the blatant E.T. ripoff stuff, but I genuinely love it. I spent $30 on a beat up VHS copy at a flea market in Columbus last June, and I've watched it maybe 8 times since then. The weird product placement and the puppet that looks like it was made in someone's garage just make me happy in a way slick movies never do. Does anyone else have a so-called trash movie they've paid real money for and defend with their whole chest?
