Took me 4 months to figure out why the fridge smelled like a dead mouse

My roommate kept insisting it was the garbage disposal, but I finally pulled the bottom drawer out and found a crushed avocado in the back corner that had basically turned into a biohazard. It took about 20 minutes to clean, which made me mad at myself for not checking sooner. Has anyone else had a mystery smell that turned out to be something embarrassingly simple?
