Rant: Spent $40 on those fancy silicone baking mats and now I'm back to parchment paper
After 6 months of use they got all greasy and sticky no matter how I washed them, and my croissants started spreading out flat instead of rising up, has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand or am I just stuck on parchment forever?

Yeah but you might be washing them wrong... you're not supposed to use soap on silicone, it soaks into the pores and makes them sticky. Just hot water and a scrub brush is all they need.

Tbh @josephl67 I had the same problem until I switched to just hot water and a scrub brush like you're saying. Works way better and no weird residue.

Read a thing once where some guy washed his silicone spatulas in the dishwasher and they came out tasting like melted plastic. Just use the dang brush and call it a day.
