It wasn't a flex like I thought" hits different when my Goodreads says "100 books" but my brain can only remember like 3 of them. Honestly my retention rate is so bad I should start a library called "Books I Definitely Read But Can't Prove." At this point I'm just collecting imaginary trophies for my imaginary reading comprehension.

Right, the "imaginary trophies for imaginary reading comprehension" part really got me. I once spent a whole party nodding along to a conversation about a book I was sure I'd read, only to realize I'd only watched the movie. At this point my library card should just come with a warning label that says "results not guaranteed.
