Our club argued for an hour about the real author of 'The Cuckoo's Calling'

I looked it up after the meeting and found out the publisher sold only 1,500 copies before the J.K. Rowling secret got out. I read that stat on a publishing industry blog. It's wild how a simple pen name can tank sales that hard. Has your group ever been totally wrong about a book's background?

Wow, my book club once spent a whole meeting debating if Hemingway was a real person.

My uncle had a first edition of The Sun Also Rises he found at a garage sale. He sold it to pay for a new roof.

Next time tell him to check the value first. Roof money might be there without losing a literary treasure.
