Serious question, did switching to a shorter reading schedule change how your club actually talks about books?
Our club in Portland meets every 6 weeks and we always picked books around 400 pages. Last month we tried a 180 page novel and finished it in two sittings instead of dragging it out. The talk got way more specific, people quoted actual lines instead of just saying they liked it, and we spent 40 minutes on one chapter. Now half the group wants to keep it short and the other half misses the big books. Has anyone else tried this and did the shorter format stick?
