Shoutout to the librarian in Boise who gave me a 20 page cap for our club picks
Our club kept picking 400 page books and half the group quit by week three. I started handing out a one page sheet with the first 20 pages and a rule: if it doesn't grab you, say so at the next meetup. It worked. We went from 4 people showing up to 11 in two rounds, and our last pick got a 9 out of 10 from everyone. Now we pick two books each round, one short one long, and nobody feels stuck. Does your group set a page limit or do you just power through whatever wins the vote?
