Update: My book club went from loving to hating the same author in 6 months
We read Sally Rooney's latest novel back in January and everyone raved about it, but when we picked her earlier work last month the whole group turned on her. The main complaint was that the characters all feel the same and the dialogue got repetitive after a few books. Anyone else have a book club that flipped on an author like this?

People always say that when writers find their voice they start sounding the same, but isn't that just what you want from an author? You know exactly what you're getting with her, that's why you keep reading.
