I started clapping for the pilot after a bumpy landing in Denver
We hit some bad weather coming into Denver last week and the landing was rough, like everyone was holding onto their armrests rough. When we finally stopped, the cabin was dead quiet, the way it always is. I just started clapping, not loud, just a normal clap. A few people looked at me like I was nuts, but then this older guy a few rows up joined in, and then a couple more. The flight attendant gave a small smile over the intercom. It felt silly but also kind of nice to break that weird post-landing tension. Has anyone else ever done something small like that in a super quiet public space?

Ever clap just to hear the sound of your own hands?

Clapped once just to check if my hearing was still working. Turns out the clap sounds different when you're alone in a quiet room.

Used to think that was weird but now I get it.
