Rant: I hit 500 rejection calls this week and it finally broke me
I work in property management and hit my 500th rejected rental application call this Tuesday. Lady screamed at me for 10 minutes because I told her the unit was already taken. Has anyone else kept count of something dumb like this and regretted it?

Oh man, I gotta say I actually see this a little different. Keeping count of 500 rejections sounds like you're just torturing yourself for no reason lol. Every single one of those calls is just part of the job, not some personal scoreboard against you. The lady who screamed at you for ten minutes? That's on her, not you. You can't control how people act over a rental unit, man. Counting them just gives those bad moments way more power over your day than they deserve.

Oh wow, this is such a good point and honestly it mirrors something I've noticed in all kinds of situations, not just work. People keep score on everything these days, like how many times their kid interrupts them or how many rude emails they get in a week. It turns everyday life into this weird competition where you're always behind. I think the real win is just letting those little moments slide off your back and not letting them take up space in your head. Your time and energy are way too valuable to waste on a tally sheet of other people's bad behavior.
