Went to a funeral home open house last month and nobody mentioned you're allowed to laugh
My aunt's memorial was at this place in Toledo that had a whole wall of beer steins and a disco ball in the visitation room, but everyone kept whispering like we were in a library, and I couldn't figure out why that felt so wrong.

Honestly that beer stein wall sounds amazing, but the disco ball is what gets me. My grandma's wake had this weird velvet painting of a sad clown in the corner and my cousin whispered 'he looks how we all feel' and we both had to stuff our faces into our hands to keep from howling. It's like nobody tells you that grief and laughing are basically the same emotion half the time. I swear if someone had put on some Bee Gees I would have just lost it completely.

Oh man, that's honestly refreshing to hear. I'd probably trip over my own feet trying not to laugh at something dumb and end up knocking over the beer stein display.
