Why does nobody talk about how much we waste on unused subscription services
I checked my bank statements last week and found $47 a month going to three different streaming services I hadn't touched in over 6 months. One was a cooking app I signed up for a single recipe back in February. The total hit me at around $564 a year just on stuff I forgot about. Has anyone else dug through their subscriptions recently and found this kind of waste?

$47 a month? Rookie numbers. I found a $12.99 charge for a meditation app I downloaded during a panic at 2am and never opened again. That was two years ago. I also had a cloud storage plan for my old phone that I lost in a cab in 2021. So either my data is floating in the ether forever or some stranger is backing up their selfies on my dime.

Call your bank and set up alerts for any subscription charges over $5 (seriously, saves so much headache later). Also check if your credit card has a digital wallet feature where you can see every recurring payment in one place, it's how I finally caught the $9.99 for a VPN I forgot existed.
