Why I quit taking work calls on my days off

I see clients in my roofing job message me on weekends hoping for fast answers. I started only replying on weekdays, which felt like breaking a big norm in my trade. What's your way of handling folks who want you on call all the time?

Yeah, my plumber friend ignores weekend texts, so clients now wait until Monday.

Honestly I used to get annoyed when tradespeople didn't answer right away, lol. But watching my brother-in-law's small business almost crash from burnout changed my mind. The guy was available 24/7 and it just wrecked him. Now I see setting a hard line like that is the only way to stay sane and actually do good work.
