Chose the 25 dollar haircut over the 5 dollar one. Regret it twice over.

Went to that new barber in Denver, paid 25 thinking I'd look sharp. Walked out looking like a startled hedgehog, went back to my usual guy the next day for a fix. Has anyone else paid more for worse work, or is it just my luck?

and honestly that's exactly why I'll never leave my guy again, he's been cutting my hair for six years and even when he's clearly having an off day it still comes out better than most of the "fancy" places I've tried... the expensive places always seem to care more about making it look good in the mirror for two seconds than actually working with your head shape, my barber knows my cowlicks better than I do at this point, he just knows which side my hair parts without me even saying anything... paid 40 bucks once at some trendy spot in Austin and walked out with a line so crooked my own mom asked if I'd done it myself in the dark, never again... you're not alone in this, cheap and reliable beats expensive and fancy every single time, especially when you have to live with the results for a month.
