Hot take: people mistake 'no filter' for permission to just be mean
I watched a guy in a Brutal Honesty thread last Tuesday tell a girl her startup idea was trash, and he never said why or what would fix it. She asked for real feedback on her pitch deck and got 14 replies calling it dumb and zero replies pointing at the actual problem, which was that her pricing page had no numbers on it. Being blunt and being useful are two different things, and this community keeps acting like they are the same. So which is it, do we want actual honesty here or just a place to dunk on people? I say if you can't name the one thing that's broken, you're not being honest, you're just being loud.
