I used to lie about being busy to avoid social stuff, but telling my friend 'I just need a quiet night' actually felt good.

Oh man, my buddy did that last week. He just told his group he needed to skip game night to recharge. They totally got it, and he said it was such a relief. Makes you wonder why we ever make up excuses, right?

Spot on, @elizabeth900. We forget that most people get needing a break. It just takes one honest person to show it's okay.

Right? It's so simple when you just say it! Last month I told my fishing crew I was skipping out because I was just plain tired from work. They didn't bat an eye, and one guy even said he'd been feeling the same way. Makes you think we're all just waiting for someone else to be honest first, huh?
