Lit $400 on fire with a meal prep subscription

Signed up for Factor meals thinking it'd save time but half the stuff went bad before I even opened it cause they packed it with those ice packs that melted in 2 hours. Anyone else get burned by those meal box services?

Oh man, I was the exact opposite I used to defend these meal kits to everyone who would listen. I thought they were this genius hack for people who hate cooking and grocery shopping like me. But after my third box of Factor where the chicken smelled off before the "use by" date, I finally get why everyone complains. I had to toss a whole box of salmon dinners that looked fine but tasted weird and that's when I realized I was basically paying premium prices for fancy leftovers. It completely changed my mind about them being any kind of solution.

Laughing but only because I've been there too. Factor got me with their fancy ads too and I ended up throwing out like three meals because the ice packs were basically warm bags of water by the time I got home from work. Their portions are a joke for the price honestly, I was still hungry after eating one of those tiny trays. I switched to just buying frozen meals from the grocery store when they're on sale and my wallet is way happier. Lesson learned, meal kits are just expensive way to learn you can microwave a frozen dinner for way less money.
