My attempt at making homemade pasta turned into a kitchen monster

Honestly, I tried making fresh fettuccine for the first time and my dough just would not cooperate. I followed the recipe exactly, but it kept tearing and sticking to itself until it looked like a giant, sad amoeba on my counter. Tbh, my boyfriend walked in and asked if I was trying to sculpt modern art, not cook dinner. I had to just ball it up, throw it in some soup, and call it 'rustic dumplings' while my dog stared at me like I was insane.

Calling it a "kitchen monster" seems a bit much, I mean it's just pasta. Maybe it's just me but turning a dough fail into soup dumplings sounds like a solid save, not a disaster. We've all had stuff completely fall apart, it still tastes fine. Idk, maybe don't be so hard on yourself, it's just dinner.

Honestly, we just started putting the food on a higher shelf and that fixed it.
