Overheard my neighbor say she never reuses water from boiling pasta
She just pours it down the drain every time and I finally asked why after watching her do it for 6 months. She said she had no idea it could be used for thickening sauces or watering plants... has anyone else run into people who just don't know basic kitchen tricks?

Pasta water is liquid gold. Salted starchy water makes bread dough heavenly. My grandma used it for soup broth too. People waste so much kitchen potential. Just mind blowing.

Pasta water is liquid gold" is SO true. I read somewhere that adding a splash of that starchy water to pizza dough makes the crust way more chewy and good. Honestly it's like a free upgrade for so many recipes, I don't get why more people don't save it.

Hold up, is it really that game changing? I toss pasta water down the drain all the time and my bread comes out fine (I mean, I'm no baker but still). Feels like one of those kitchen hacks that gets hyped way too much when it's just... water.
