Realized last week my soil pH was off by a full point after 3 years of garbage tomato harvests

I finally tested my garden soil with a cheap kit from the hardware store and found out it was way too acidic, which explains why every June I'd get tiny green tomatoes that never turned red - has anyone else wasted seasons on bad dirt?

Did you try adding lime to fix it? I had a similar problem with my blueberries one year, they were all puny and sour... turns out the soil was too alkaline for them. I went nuts with some sulfur treatment and ended up killing half the bushes because I overcorrected. Gardening is such a guessing game sometimes, three years of bad tomatoes sounds rough though.

Three years of bad tomatoes" could be a virus in the soil, not just nutrients.
