That free SEO audit tool told me to delete my whole homepage.
I was running an audit on my landscaping site last month in Portland and the tool flagged my homepage content as 92% too dense. I deleted half the text based on its advice and my traffic dropped by 40% in a week. Has anyone else had a tool steer you completely wrong like that?

Totally agree with @jordang32, people do the same thing with home renovation shows - they see a demo on TV then immediately knock out a load-bearing wall in their own house without thinking. Gotta test small before going all in with these audit tools.

Wait, how long did you wait before making changes based on one tool? I used to be all about trusting those free audit tools like they were the gospel truth. But then I ran one on my buddy's coffee shop site and it told him to rewrite his entire About page. He did it and his bounce rate went through the roof. Now I treat those tools as a starting point, not the final word. In my experience, a human eye on content always beats what a bot thinks.

Tools are just that - tools. Why would anyone let a free bot rewrite their entire About page without testing it on a tiny section first?
