Unpopular opinion: I tried being totally honest in a work review and it backfired.

I gave my manager direct feedback about our project timeline being unrealistic, using the exact numbers from our last two failed launches. Instead of fixing it, they just got defensive and cut my hours. Has anyone else had a 'brutal honesty' moment that actually made things worse?

Tried that once by pointing out a huge safety flaw in our process. Got told my "tone was unhelpful" and they scheduled a mandatory positivity seminar for my whole team. Sometimes they just want to hear the lie.

Wait, did they at least serve snacks at the positivity seminar? I feel like the only way to sit through that is with free donuts and the strong sense that HR is just making stuff up.

Watched a guy get moved to the night shift for suggesting a cheaper supplier.
