Appreciation post: the $3 clearance rack at a Kroger in Dayton got me through a 12 day pantry challenge
Three years ago I started doing a no-grocery-store challenge every January where I only eat what's already in the house, and I found out the clearance shelf gets restocked around 7 AM on Tuesdays at the one on Smithville Road. Last January I got 6 cans of diced tomatoes for 79 cents each and a bag of rice for $1.50, which covered most of my dinners for the last 4 days. Anyone else track their store's markdown schedule, or is that just me being cheap?
