Checked out the flea market on Route 9 and saw the same $8 knockoff toolkit from 3 years ago
I wandered over to the Route 9 flea market last Sunday because my old screwdriver set finally gave out. There's this one vendor who's been there forever, and I swear he still has the same red plastic toolkit with the flimsy ratchet that I almost bought back in 2021. He's asking $8 now, same as then, but the plastic feels even cheaper and the bits are already rusting in the package. I get that flea markets are about haggling, but this felt less like a deal and more like a trap for someone who doesn't know better. I ended up walking to the hardware store and spent $12 on a basic set that'll probably last me five years. Has anyone else noticed vendors marking up junk just because the market crowd changes every weekend?
