Found a thrift store that prices cookware by weight, not brand

My local Goodwill in Ohio started charging $1.50 per pound for all metal items, and I scored a cast iron skillet that would cost $80 new for about $4 based on weight. It needed some elbow grease to clean off rust but after a quick season it's cooking perfect bacon without sticking. Anyone else got a secret pricing trick at their secondhand spots that saves a bunch?

Wish more thrift stores did this, would make buying cheap kitchen gear way easier.

Yeah but the problem is when thrift stores sort and organize too much, the prices go up. Seen it happen at a few places near me. Stuff that used to be a dollar or two suddenly costs $8 because they put it in a "vintage kitchen" section. Part of the fun of thrifting is digging through the junk to find something decent. If they start curating everything, you lose that cheap price point.
