Picked a $20 Walmart pan over a $60 Cuisinart for my eggs last month
I was standing in the aisle at the Walmart in Akron trying to decide between a cheap nonstick skillet and the fancy one my sister swore by. Went with the budget option because I figured I'd just replace it when it wore out, and honestly it's been cooking my eggs perfectly with no sticking at all. Has anyone else found that spending less on cookware actually worked out better for them?

Man that's exactly how I feel about most kitchen stuff now. Dropped $80 on a fancy pan once and it started sticking within 6 months. The cheap one from Walmart still going strong after a year. Nonstick is nonstick at the end of the day. All that expensive coating wears off just the same. You made the right call in my book.

My sister went through three expensive pans in two years and finally just bought the cheap ones from the grocery store. She used to brag about her All-Clad set but now she's got a stack of generic skillets that cost ten bucks each. I told her about my $20 Walmart pan and she laughed at first. Then she came over and saw my scrambled eggs slide right out with just a swipe of butter. Now she's converted and won't spend more than twenty five on any nonstick pan.

So have you noticed a difference in how long the cheap ones last compared to the pricier ones before they start sticking?
