Stopped at a rest area outside Flagstaff and saw the vending machine prices
The snack machine had a bag of chips for $4.75. A soda was over three dollars. I know it's a captive market, but that's more than double the price at a grocery store a few miles down the road. It's a quick way to blow your per diem. Anyone know a good spot to stock up cheap along I-40 in that area?

My cousin once bought a five dollar water bottle at a rest stop and then found a dollar store literally at the next exit. He was so mad he didn't even open it.

That "captive market" thing is the whole story now. It feels like every place you can't easily leave, from airports to movie theaters, has turned into a pure profit zone. You just have to remember to pack your own snacks.

Heard a buddy got so mad at a rest stop price he turned around and drove ten minutes to a Walmart.
