Why does nobody talk about the library for tools?
I mean, I needed a power washer for a weekend project but buying one felt dumb. Someone at work told me about the tool library in our town, you pay a small fee and borrow stuff. I got a really good one for two days and it cost me like 15 bucks total. Has anyone else tried something like that for big tools you only need once?

But what if your local one sucks?

Oh my god yes! I read a whole article about these last year. It's such a smart idea because most of us don't have space or money for all that stuff. The one near me even has lawn aerators and carpet cleaners. It saves you from buying a thing you'll use once and then have to store forever. More people should know about them.

That "use once and store forever" thing is only part of the story though. I tried one for a power washer. It was a hassle to go get it, the line was long, and the thing was kinda beat up and leaked. By the time I drove it back I'd wasted half my Saturday. Sometimes just buying the cheap tool, even if you store it, is less of a headache than dealing with the shared one everyone else has already messed up.
