Am I the only one who thinks night buses beat daytime trains in Europe
I did Munich to Zagreb overnight for 29 euros last month and slept most of the way instead of paying 90 for a daytime train. You lose the views but you also lose a hostel night, so tell me why people still skip this. Anyone got a night bus route they swear by?
Flixbus from Vienna to Krakow was 26 euros and I still remember the old man next to me who pulled out a whole sausage and bread knife at 2am somewhere past Brno. He offered me half and we just sat there eating in the dark like it was the most normal thing in the world. That never happens on a daytime train where everyone stares at their phone for eight hours. The trick is to grab a seat in the back row if you can, nobody climbs over you and the engine noise drowns out the snoring. I have done that route three times now and I would pick it over the train every single time.
