Booked a Tuesday flight to Denver and saved $180 just by checking the seat map app the night before
I fly out to see my brother in Denver about 4 times a year and always got stuck paying around $260 round trip because I booked whatever showed up first. Last trip I waited until 9pm the night before and noticed the airline app quietly dropped the price to $80 one way, so I grabbed it. Turns out Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings are way cheaper and the app shows seats nobody picked yet, which somehow makes the fare go down. I also packed just a backpack so I skipped the $35 carry on fee at the gate. Does anyone else watch the app the night before a flight, or am I just getting lucky with timing?
