Flight got cancelled in Denver and the $38 hostel I booked turned out to be a party spot
Landed in Denver last Tuesday for a cheap ski trip and the airline cancelled my connection at 11pm. I booked the cheapest hostel I could find on my phone, $38 for the night, and got there around 1am only to find out it was above a bar with live music till 3. Barely slept, missed my early shuttle, and had to eat the cost of the lift ticket I bought in advance. Now I'm wondering if I should just pay a bit more for a quiet spot near the airport next time, or if there's a trick to vetting hostels before you book blind. What do you all check before pulling the trigger on a last minute room?
