Heads up about those 'cheap' hostels in Bangkok

I booked a place near Khao San Road for $8 a night last month and woke up with bed bug bites all over my arms. The staff just shrugged and said it happens. Spend the extra $5 to stay at Lub d or similar, your skin will thank you. Anyone else have a horror story from a budget stay?

Oh man that's rough! My buddy Mark had something similar happen last year and it was a total nightmare. He ordered this vintage guitar online and when it showed up the neck was completely cracked in half. The seller tried to blame it on the shipping company but it was clear they didn't pack it right. He spent like three weeks going back and forth with customer service and finally had to file a chargeback with his bank to get his money back. It's crazy how many hoops you have to jump through just to get a refund these days. Hope yours gets sorted quicker than his did!
