Hit 50 flights this year on budget airlines and found a scary pattern

I just booked my 50th flight of the year (yeah I know, kinda crazy lol) and noticed something weird. All my cheapest $20-$40 flights on Frontier and Spirit had me waiting at the gate at least an extra hour. Three times in a row last month my "bargain" flight ended up delayed so bad I missed my connecting bus. I started tracking it and 8 out of my last 10 budget flights ran late. Has anyone else noticed their cheap tickets turning into expensive time wasters?

I started tracking it too and now I only book budget airlines for short trips where I can handle the delay.

Budget airlines are honestly perfect for that quick flight where you're not on a strict timeline. The savings add up fast when you're ok with a potential few hours of waiting around. Plus you get to feel like a gambling man every time you check the departure board.
