Took a stranger's advice about overnight trains. Best call I've made.
Guy I met in a hostel line in Prague said skip the flight, take the night train to Krakow. Said it saves a night's lodging and you wake up there. Did it last month. 34 euros for a sleeper berth. Sure, I didn't sleep great but I ate breakfast in Poland and skipped a 90 dollar hotel. Anyone else trust random travel advice over their own planning?

And the whole time I'm thinking, okay, but what about the guy who tells you to skip a hostel and ends up being the credit card scammer? Like, this one dude told me to grab a cheaper ticket from a random seller outside the station in Budapest and I almost missed my entire connection. You got lucky, thirty four euros is a solid deal, but let's not pretend a stranger's gut feeling is some kind of life hack. Half the time they're just telling you what THEY wish they'd done, not what works for you. Glad you got your pierogies, but I'll keep my overpriced hotel and decent sleep, thanks.
