Am I the only one who switched from a monthly budget to a weekly one and finally stuck with it?
I used to spend 3 hours on the 1st of each month building a big budget, then forget it by the 9th. Now I just move $175 into groceries every Sunday morning and it takes 5 minutes.
Switched to weekly and now I just do the same dumb thing four times a month instead of once. Half the time I forget it's Sunday, or I move the money and then blow it by Wednesday because hey, next Sunday is only a few days away. At least with a monthly budget I felt bad about failing once, not every single week. And what happens when rent or a car repair pops up, does that come out of week two or do you just pretend it doesn't exist? Sounds like you traded one kind of guilt for a fancier calendar.
