Appreciation post: I saved $200 a month by switching my grocery day

I was spending way too much at the store every week, so I tried shopping on Wednesday mornings instead of Saturdays. The manager at my local Kroger told me they mark down meat and bakery items on Tuesdays, so Wednesday has the best leftovers. Last month I cut my grocery bill from $600 to $400 just by changing the day. Has anyone else found a weird store schedule that works?

Ask the meat and seafood managers too, not just the produce folks. They usually have their own markdown schedules that are separate from the rest of the store.
