Caught my 'budgeting' app double counting my rent for 4 months

I thought I was doing great, saving like $200 a month according to this tracker app I've used since March. Then last Tuesday I noticed the 'rent' category had two separate $875 entries for the same day. Scrolled back and the same glitch happened every month since I set up autopay. Turns out the app was pulling from both my bank feed and the property manager's portal. I've been overestimating my savings this whole time. Anyone else ever catch their tracking tool lying to them before they fixed a real habit?

Double the same $875 on the same day for four months and you never noticed? That's wild. I get that apps are supposed to make this stuff easier, but if it's showing two identical charges, that should pop out immediately. You'd think the total monthly spend would look way off too. This is exactly why I still check my bank statements line by line every week. You were basically paying rent twice in your head the whole time and felt good about it.
