I finally did the envelope thing after scoffing at it for years

My coworker Sharon bragged about saving $140 a month just by using cash envelopes for groceries and gas, and I rolled my eyes so hard. Tried it for one week in Austin and I'm honestly mad it works, my Target runs got cut in half because I literally ran out of twenties. Has anyone else had a system they hated that turned out to be the obvious answer?
