I finally tracked my coffee spending for a month and the number was wild

Everyone says cutting out coffee is a silly tip, but I saw a real before and after. For 30 days, I wrote down every coffee shop trip and drive-thru run. It came to $187. The next month, I made a pot at home and only bought coffee out twice. I spent $22. That's a $165 difference in just one month. I'm not saying never buy coffee, but seeing the exact number changed my mind. Has anyone else had a small habit add up way more than they thought?

Yeah, that "exact number" part is what gets you. It's always the little stuff.

You're right about the little stuff. My bank statement looks like a crime scene where the murder weapon was a dozen $4.99 charges for things I've already forgotten.
