Just realized buying bulk rice was my biggest money saver this year

I used to spend like $15 a week on those little bags of rice from the store. Then I saw a 50 pound bag at a restaurant supply place in Portland for $28. I was nervous because that is a huge bag and I live alone. But I got a cheap plastic storage bin for $6 and it's been six months now. I have not bought a single bag of rice since and the bin is still half full. That is around $360 saved just on rice. Has anyone else gone super bulk on something and it actually worked out?

Not quite $360 saved though, the bin cost something.

Yo but $6 is basically nothing when you look at the long term savings, that bin paid for itself like 60 times over.
