Just realized I was paying $45 a month for a gym I never went to

I was sitting in my car last week in Tulsa after grabbing coffee, scrolling through my bank statements and saw that Gold's Gym charge again. I hadn't stepped foot in there in like 4 months. Called them right then and cancelled, then signed up for a $15 a month planet fitness instead. Has anyone else found random subscriptions draining your account like this?

Man 45 bucks a month for a gym you never touched, that stings. I had a similar thing with a streaming service I forgot about for almost a year, felt like a real dummy when I noticed. Planet Fitness for 15 bucks is a solid deal though, at least you won't feel as bad if you skip a week or two. Hard to believe they can charge that much for a membership when most people just use the treadmill anyway. Good on you for catching it, those automatic payments are sneaky.

Eh, I kinda disagree. Some people actually use more than the treadmill - my buddy does almost all his workouts at a gym like that. 45 bucks sucks for something you don't use, but it's not automatically a rip-off if you show up.
