My grandpa handed me a coffee can of cash in his garage in 2009 and I still budget like him
I was 22 and broke, sitting on a milk crate in his garage in Modesto while he counted out $340 for me to make rent. He kept his whole budget in that Folgers can, envelopes for gas and groceries and a little one for what he called 'fun money.' He told me if the envelope is empty, you stop buying, it's that simple. I use an app now but I still split my money into digital envelopes every payday. Does anyone else still do the envelope thing or am I the last one?
