My tire blew out on a country road 30 miles from home
I was driving back from a doctor's appointment in rural Ohio last Tuesday when I heard a loud pop. My right rear tire went flat on a stretch of road with no cell service for miles. I had to change it myself with the spare in the trunk, which I haven't done in years. It took me 45 minutes and I got my hands dirty, but I saved the $120 towing fee my roadside assistance would have charged. When I got home, I found a used tire on Facebook Marketplace for $40 instead of buying new at the shop. Has anyone else managed to turn a bad situation into a money saving win?
