Picked the $3 frozen pizza over the $12 takeout last Tuesday
I was standing in the grocery aisle debating between a cheap frozen pizza and ordering from that Italian place down the street, and I grabbed the frozen one just to see if I could make it work. Saved about $9 that night and honestly, with some extra cheese I had in the fridge, it was pretty good. Anyone else find themselves making those little swaps that add up?

My last $3 frozen pizza had the texture of cardboard soaked in regret. I'd rather skip eating entirely than pretend that's a satisfying dinner. You saved nine bucks but you spent an hour eating something you had to dress up with your own cheese just to make it edible. That $12 takeout pizza would have been hot, fresh, and actually tasted like food. Plus you supported a local business instead of a faceless corporation. Sometimes the cheap swap isn't worth the disappointment.

Texture of cardboard soaked in regret" is such a perfect description that I think I felt that one in my soul, lol. I've had those pizzas where you bite in and it's like eating a roofing shingle that someone vaguely waved over a cheese factory. You're right that by the time you add decent pepperoni and extra mozzarella you've basically made a $7 pizza that still tastes like a freezer burn apology. But man, sometimes I'm just too tired to even call the pizza place, let alone wait for delivery and deal with the driver who always looks at me like I'm interrupting his night. I'd rather be disappointed in the privacy of my own kitchen where nobody has to see me eating it in my boxers at 11pm.
