Pro tip: my $3 flip phone alarm trick fixed my late fee problem

I kept paying $35 late fees on my electric bill because my phone reminders just blended in with everything else. Last month I set an alarm on my old flip phone, the one with the terrible built-in ringer, and left it in the kitchen. Has anyone else tried using a separate device for bill reminders, or do you have a system that actually sticks?
