Spent $80 on a fancy wool dryer ball set and it actually paid off
I was so tired of buying those fabric softener sheets every month. Back in the day my grandma just used vinegar but I hated the smell. Finally grabbed a set of 6 wool balls from a local craft fair for $80 about 8 months ago. My clothes come out way less wrinkled and I haven't bought dryer sheets since. Anyone else switch to these and notice a difference in your electric bill too?

Bought a set myself a few months ago and honestly I felt like a genius for the first week until I accidentally threw one in with a load of darks and it came out looking like a sad, fuzzy tumbleweed. My electric bill didn't change much but my clothes definitely feel less staticky and I'm not buying those sheets every few weeks. I still use a splash of vinegar in the rinse cycle though just for softness, the smell fades once things are dry. My grandma would probably say I'm overcomplicating it but at least I'm not burning through money on single-use stuff anymore.

Wait, you're saying those wool balls actually work?

Yeah, the 'sad fuzzy tumbleweed' thing got me too. I did the exact same thing with a dark load and now I basically have one ball that looks like it went through a blender. Still works though, I guess it just adds character. The electric bill thing I can't really speak to, but I can say my clothes don't come out looking like they just survived a boxing match with the dryer anymore. Less wrinkling is a win in my book, even if I look like a goofball when I find a fuzzball in with my black t-shirts.
