That pharmacy thing is the real kicker because those double charges don't show up as one big hit, they're spread out as small $8 here and $12 there until you add it up and realize you've been bleeding cash for months. Most people never catch it either because doing the math by hand across 40 transactions is a nightmare, so the "free" part is really just you agreeing to be your own accountant. I started treating it like this: my time has a price, and if a tool saves me even two hours of squinting at statements, that's already worth more than the monthly fee. The sneaky cost of free isn't even the missed duplicates, it's all the stuff you stop checking because it got too annoying to keep up with.
